Geometric Figures Everyone Should
Know:
1.
Is
an activity in this series that enables a user quickly learn essential facts on
common geometric figures encountered at the k through12 levels. It takes considerable effort for many early
learners to assimilate and easily discern the differences between the various
geometric figures. This activity has
been designed to ease that effort. It
does this by outlining the uniqueness of each one of the commonly encountered
geometric figures, in an outlay that allows the user to get the whole picture
in one fell swoop; a process proven to enhance comprehension and retention of
learned facts.
2.
Another
intended goal of this activity is encouraging students to do research and work
independently. Getting correct answers
to all the text boxes in the Activity Fields may require consulting several
textbooks, as well as the internet.
3.
To
prevent users from looking up answer before doing the required amount of work,
the Answer Verification Chart can be easily extracted without damaging the
booklet.
4.
Users
can write answers on a separate sheet of paper, to avoid using a new booklet
for each activity session.
5.
Since
the activity is timed and standardized, it can be used for student
evaluation.
6.
The
material covered in this activity is part of the core of most K through 12
mathematics (geometry) syllabuses.
7.
The
activity can be used as a worksheet generator, as well as a highly condensed
information text.
8.
The
activity is also an ideal tool for teachers to supplement class work, and to keep
pupils productively busy after regular class material has been covered.
Each activity consists of an 8½ by 11 soft
cover booklet that contains:
Four
pages of Activity Fields™
Two
pages of Answer Verification Charts™
8
sample model-making sheets
